Crypto M&A Activity Soars in 2025, Surpassing $8.6 Billion
Dealmaking in the crypto sector has surged despite market volatility, with mergers and acquisitions reaching $8.6 billion across 133 transactions this year—eclipsing the combined totals of the previous four years. Architect Partners estimates the true figure could be as high as $12.9 billion, a stark rise from 2024’s $2.8 billion.
Coinbase spearheaded the activity, securing six acquisitions including a $2.9 billion purchase of Deribit. The momentum reflects a strategic pivot toward long-term infrastructure over short-term speculation, fueled by favorable regulatory shifts and institutional confidence.
